Ensuring that person-centred recovery processes are addressed throughout in the development of the student. The mental health field of practice modules will be further informed by critical engagement with current mental health agendas and developments.
The course aims to produce excellent nurses, who are fit for practice and able to meet the key needs of all patient groups. Students will experience an academic and professional training environment conceived and structured to enable you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to pursue and sustain a career in contemporary nursing practice.
The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) [Pre-registration Nursing] focuses on the inclusion of service users and carers as an integral part of the delivery of the course. This will ensure that person-centred recovery processes are addressed throughout the course in the development of the student. The mental health field of practice modules will be further informed by critical engagement with current mental health agendas and developments. This is a three-year, full-time degree consisting of field of practice, generic and practice learning modules, beginning at Level 4 through to Level 6.
